M.ª Alexandra Ferreira-Valente, born in January, 18th 1983, in Ovar, Portugal, can be currently found at the University Portucalente Infante D. Henrique, Porto, Portugal.
Alexandra is currently Assistant Professor at the University Portucalense Infante D. Henrique and at the University Lusíada of Lisbon.
She is Associated Researcher of CES - Center of Social Studies, and Researcher of INPP Portucalense.
She is Graduated in Psychology (specialty of Health Psychology), since 2006, by the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences of the University of Porto (FPCE-UP), OPorto, Portugal.
Postgraduated in Neuropsychology and Aging, by CESPU, Portugal, since 2007, and in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapies, by CRIAP, since 2014.
She concluded her PhD in Psychology in February, 7th 2012, having been Approved with summa cum laude, with a thesis entitled "Coping, depression, anxiety, self-efficacy, satisfaction with social support: relation with chronic pain experience and with QoL, in people with chronic musculoskeletal pain"

May 2013 to August 2015 - Researcher of the Project FinFam - Finances, Gender and Power (FCT funding - PTDC/IVC-SOC/4823/2012 - FCOMP-01-0124-FEDER-029372) on the financial arrangments of Portuguese families and on the psychosocial impacts of the economic crisis.
April 2015 to July 2016 - Researcher of the Pilot Line of Research in Medical Education of ICVS, ECS, at University of Minho, collaborating in the project ELECSUM on University of Minho medical students longitudinal development.
